About Opposite of Work
Opposite of Work is a niche coaching and consulting company serving small businesses. We specialize in eCommerce businesses and companies that transact and market online. We offer coaching, consulting, data services, and fractional finance support.
Our Philosophy
Opposite of Work represents a mindset shift from hustling harder to working smarter. It’s about building systems, structure, and support so that your business stops feeling like a burden and starts serving you.
In short, the opposite of work is when things finally click, when operations, finances, and people are aligned, and your effort produces results instead of burnout.

-
Bill is a small business coach and consultant who helps entrepreneurs and business owners build stronger, more profitable companies.
He brings experience from both sides of the table: as a founder and operator of a successful small business, and as a leader within larger organizations. Bill founded an eCommerce company and scaled it from an idea into a profitable multi-million-dollar operation. As co-founder and CEO, he led the company for nearly 18 years before successfully exiting.
He has also held leadership roles at three public companies, including Amazon, as well as several smaller businesses, with experience spanning operations, marketing, finance, and growth.
Through his own entrepreneurial journey, Bill saw firsthand how different the challenges of running a small business can be. Owners are often responsible for everything at once—strategy, finances, people, operations, marketing, and growth—yet much of the traditional consulting world is built for larger organizations.
Today, Bill works with small business owners at every stage, from early-stage companies finding their footing to established businesses managing multi-million-dollar operations. His work focuses on helping owners understand what is really happening in their business, solve the problems limiting profitability and growth, and make better decisions with greater confidence.
Having invested in coaching throughout his own entrepreneurial journey, Bill understands the value of having an experienced outside perspective. He draws on nearly two decades of ownership and leadership experience to provide practical guidance grounded in the realities of running a business.
Bill holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Master’s in Marketing & Information Systems.

Opposite of Work is the power behind your progress.
We have walked in your shoes.
As entrepreneurs and business leaders, we know what it takes to build, operate, and grow a company. We have made tough decisions, built teams and systems, managed finances, navigated change, and worked through the challenges that come with creating something sustainable.
After nearly two decades of operating our own business, we successfully exited on our terms. That outcome came from disciplined planning, sound financial management, strong operations, and a commitment to continuously learning and improving.
Along the way, we worked with coaches, consultants, and fellow business owners who helped us see our company from new perspectives. Their insight, support, and empathy shaped how we now work with other entrepreneurs.
Our experience spans operations, marketing, technology, finance, administration, and leadership. That broad perspective allows us to help small business owners look beyond individual symptoms and understand how the different parts of their business work together.
Today, Opposite of Work provides small business coaching, consulting, data services, and fractional finance support to help entrepreneurs make better decisions, improve profitability, strengthen operations, and build businesses that are easier to manage and positioned for sustainable growth.
When You Work With Us
Think of Opposite of Work as your co-pilot.
We act as a sounding board, strategic partner, and experienced outside perspective as you navigate decisions both large and small. We help you identify what is really happening in your business, determine what deserves your attention, and turn ideas into practical action.
Our work generally centers around three areas:
Revenue – Strategy, sales, marketing, and growth
Profit – Finance, operations, processes, and systems
People – Leadership, teams, culture, and the realities of being a business owner
We help you focus on the right issues, establish clear priorities, and move forward with greater confidence. Depending on what your business needs, that may mean strengthening your financial foundation, improving systems and processes, evaluating growth opportunities, developing your team, or simply having an experienced partner help you think through the next decision.
We also recognize that business performance and personal performance are connected. Stress, workload, leadership demands, and work-life balance all affect how effectively you can lead.
We do not just give advice and walk away. We work alongside you, bring practical experience to the table, and help fill the gaps where you need support most.
